I think Obama did better with this one :) A first: the moderator fact-checked Romney in real time, telling him that he was wrong on an embassy-attack-issue comment he made.

Hi Crystal. I'd say it was a very interesting "dog and pony show" - and I want to emphasize "show"!
While you believe the moderator was engaging in "on the spot fact checking" I saw it as clearly taking a side. In all sincerity, if she did the same thing to the President would you be applauding it so much?
Perhaps I am wrong, but I believe that moderators are supposed to be neutral and it certainly did not come off that way to me because her action was not done across the board.

Yes, to be honest, I would not have like it if she had corrected Obama on some assertion he made. It's just that after watching that first debate in which Romney lied so muc about his stances on issues (at least I believe he was lying), it was refreshing to have someone call him on it, for once.

In my experience, ALL politicians do whatever they must to obtain a person's vote and I think telling lies is probably very tame compared to what really goes on.
As far as being "called on it" - they were each doing a good job calling the other liar that it started to border on ridiculous!

But Governor Romney, you are perfectly right that it took weeks for them to get past the tape.
I guess some "moderators" aren't much different than politicians when it comes to veracity. :)
Yes, it was pretty mixed up. I find it hard to respect anyone who lies, though. They probably both stretch the truth at times but Romney has been making it into an art form :)
