St. Ignatius

I came across this video today of "Tomb & Rooms of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Rome" - it almost made me feel like I was there :) .....

Hi Dina,

I really do like him - he's so not the typical saint but very down-to-earth :)

Thanks for telling me about Justin Welby - just looked up the story at the Guardian ... http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/nov/25/justin-welby-father-marriage-secret

I should learn more about Ignatius.

Funny how the Guardian mentions the Jewish roots just in one little sentence.
Welby had a difficult start in life.

The thing I like about Ignatius is that he believed God would inter-act with people if they wanted him to and that the inter-action could take place outside of church and ritualized prayers. The church obviously doesn't emphasize that bit about him ;) If you're ever interested, he wrote a short bio about himself (he refers to himself in it in the 3rd person) and it's online in a few places, like here ... http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/24534

Yeah, about Welby, I only knew of him when the Anglicans started looking for a new boss - he was mostly notable for having been an oil executive once, I think. He's a little too conservative for me, but he seems like a good person and he must have a good character to have managed with such a challenging childhood. Maybe he wants to learn more about his Jewish roots and that's why the visit to Israel?
